Please excuse the sounds of my sweet baby crying - we’re going through teething.
I have been photographing my pieces for getting on the website to sell and it's been pretty fun. I am learning a lot about photography, lighting, settings, angles and much more. Here is a small shoot I did today for my daughter Siri's laser cut Birthday invitation. I'm so excited to be able to offer these as a product.
I offer the invite itself, the printed envelopes with marbled inserts. The make me smile just looking at them. Every little girl's dream invitation (at least mine.)
My daughter, Siri's, birthday party inspired these adorable felt pennant banners. Here's just two of the banners I have been working on this week. More fun ones to come!
I was lucky enough to have been asked to help with a little sign for the Pop-Up Market at Anthropolgie for The Cookie Baker's Enieda. I had such fun creating it for her. Speaking of, I need to share her revised logo with you & all the other fun items I was able to help her out with! They were are so exciting to do. My next post shall be overwhelming, I promise. Lol!
I had fun working on this one. This would be a super cute pattern on a quilt square with solid oranges, pinks and peaches. Swoon. Maybe someday I'll do it!
Here are a few laser cut wedding invitations I've been playing around with awaiting the arrival of my glowforge. I am so excited to see how much detail I will be able to get with this incredible machine once it arrives. The projects in my head are mounting and the anticipation is killing me. Patience, Shawna, patience...
I have seen many laser cut wedding invitations, but I haven't seen any cute baby announcements like this yet.
I am already making new things that I'll be able to cut with my glowforge once it gets here. This one shown here will be cut out, then twirled into a loose spiral for under a glass dome. Perfect for a baby room on a shelf. I so wish I had the machine now to cut it and see!

I am taking the MAKE ART THAT SELLS (MATS) Classes and really enjoying them so far. I was so happy they came up with a self paced program; with a 3 year old nothings is ever planned or happen when it's supposed to. Don't get me wrong, my little girl is amazing and I love her to peices, but I don't call her pokey puppy for nothing!
Above is the Part A class extra assignment. Below is the Part B extra assignment.
The Part B, below was a Self Portrait / Identity Project. I had so much fun with this one in particular. I was able to share my vintage love. There are all sorts of goodies in this piece that speak to me. My grandpas old camera, my love of sewing and crafting, flowers, ferns; things that make me, me.
They are the only two that really had deadlines to get them turned by. So, I started there. More to come.
I just finished up Wild Edges Photobooth Co. Branding & Website. Please go check out this amazing company if you are in need of this service. It looks positively fabulous! They are located in the Famously Hot City of Columbia, South Carolina, and are locally-owned and owner operated! The owner Angie was so fun to work with and I am so grateful for her brilliant ideas & drive to make this whole process so creative.
